Kentucky Lake Vacation Guide


Experience beautiful Kentucky Lake and the surrounding areas year round.  Throughout the year, you can enjoy one of the many events or festivals going on around the lakes.  We want visitors to the area to have an enjoyable and memorable experience when, so we’ve put together a quick vacation guide for your visit to the Kentucky Lake area.

There’s certainly plenty to do in the Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley area of Western Kentucky.  From boating, fishing, and camping to shopping, dining, and relaxing - you’re bound to have a wonderful stay when you visit.

Land Between the Lakes - The Land Between the Lakes area is situated between the two lakes.  Here, you can find everything from the LBL Nature Station and Elk and Bison Prairie to the amazing sights at the Planetarium and Observatory.  There’s plenty to experience from the entire LBL area.

Family Activities - If you’re looking for something the whole family can enjoy, you may want to check out one of the many family parks and attractions in the area.  The kids can race each other on go-karts or the whole family can compete in mini-golf.  There’s also water parks, movie theaters, bowling alleys, and so much more in many of the neighboring towns.

Outdoors - The great outdoors of Western Kentucky!  This is one of the most popular reasons to visit the Kentucky Lake area.  There’s so much to do, that even the pickiest member of your family will certainly find something that they’ll love!  The more traditional experience involves setting up camp at one of the many campgrounds in the area.  From there, you can access numerous backpacking, hiking, or mountain biking trails.  Dads may enjoy hitting up one of the many golf courses in the area while the kids venture out and try horseback riding or even disc golf.

On The Lakes - The lakes of Western Kentucky offer non-stop fun!  From fishing and boating, to skiing, water tubing, jet skiing, and so much more!  You’ll wonder where the time went as you spend your days relaxing on or by the water.  Don’t have a boat?  No problem!  There’s plenty of marinas in the area that offer boat rentals, pontoon rentals, and even jet ski rentals.
